Recall 22V-175 Brake Pressure Switch May Corrode Causing Brake Light to Stay Lit

UPDATE: The letter sent out to owners now indicates the brake pressure switch will be replaced. Parts are not in yet so recalls can’t be completed as of today (June 10).

Just saw a recall for pretty much all Arcimoto vehicles dated March 23, 2022. Recall number 22V-175 describes a scenario by which the brake pressure switch can corrode from salt and chemicals (like de-icer) causing the brake lights to stay on. It appears this recall may halt production until a solution is found and applied. That said, I can't imagine the solution to be difficult or expensive so if production is stopped, it shouldn't be for long.

According to the recall: "Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to contact Arcimoto to schedule a service appointment to have the brake pressure switch inspected and dielectric grease added to the connection to prevent the brake lights from remaining on. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on May 2, 2022. Owners may contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293."
