Why the Arcimoto FUV is a BARGAIN

As I compare 3/4 wheel vehicles and low priced lithium ion vehicles currently available to purchase (not pre-ordered), I've found the FUV is actually priced far lower for what you get. With a cargo box (I feel it is necessary), no doors, and everything else standard including a 19 kwh lithium-ion battery pack, here is what you get for $18,650 plus taxes and fees (which can add up to another $2000):

A GEM car is the closest thing to an Arcimoto FUV that you can buy today. It has limited speed (35mph vs FUV 75mph) but does offer full door options. With a cargo box (I feel it is necessary), no doors, and everything else standard, here is what you get for $31,725 (half the battery):

The Polaris Slingshot is a gas option that offers highway speeds. In most states you will likely need a helmet as there is no crush tested roof. Without a cover, here is what you get starting at $20,800:

The Can-Am Spyder is another gas option that offers highway speeds. In most states you will need a helmet and motorcycle endorsement. Here is what you get starting at $18,000 for a 2 seater without cargo area, or $23,900 with cargo options:

If you love gas vehicles and more of a motorcycle feel, the Slingshot and Spyder are probably more to your liking.

If you want all electric, highway speeds, and some sort of cover, the Arcimoto FUV is a no-brainer at a savings of $12,000 over the GEM car. Going electric has a big price increase as you can see with the GEM car. Their low price offering includes AGM lead acid type battery, which is slow to charge, generally lasts only a few years before needing replacement, and has less energy density per pound than its lithium-ion counterpart.

I'll note that I did not include the Electra Meccanica Solo, Aptera, Vanderhall Edison, nor Nobe as these vehicles are not currently offered for purchase to date.
