FUV On-Board Charger Doesn’t Seem to be Manufactured Anymore

The Arcimoto FUV has an on-board charger that allows for J1772 charging. It is a part that is sandwiched on the back side of a cooling plate and fits like a glove in that area. It has screw holes that are very specific and matches the Arcimoto cooling plate.

The part number is Greenwatt Power EVC-122-3400-L 3.4kW. You can find a PDF on the part at https://greenwattpower.com/wp-content/uploads/Datasheet-EVC-3400.pdf

As you can see, the Greenwatt Power EVC-122-3400-L is 3.4kW, liquid cooled, with a maximum output current of 34 amp, and with voltage range of 70-122.

What they offer on their website does not seem to includes this model any longer. It used to. Currently, this is what I see:

The only 2 on board chargers they offer that support J1772 have a higher max output current and different voltage range that is too low.

I have heard through the grapevine that Arcimoto quit ordering the EVC-122-3400-L some time ago when their plan was to upgrade the platform, possibly through their 1.x announced system. Obviously that hasn’t come to fruition so there is a chance they might be running out of on-board chargers on hand or be completely out of them. Without the on-board charger, you will not be able to charge or operate your FUV.

The issue is that you need the 1772 (I’m guessing) and liquid cooled surface/dimensions plus the correct voltage. The 2 options Greenwatt has with J1772 support doesn’t have enough voltage range. And this is worrying.
